The story of Honey House Distillery began in 2012 when good friends Kevin Culhane and Adam Bergal came up with the idea to start a distillery in Durango, Colorado. After years of distillery conventions, tours, sampling (the most fun part of course) and planning, the two engineers put their ideas together for a unique distillery like no other. With Kevin’s family having over 100 years of bee and honey handling experience, their micro-distillery would incorporate the use of Rocky Mountain Wildflower Honey in every recipe. They reached out to Vendome Cooper Works in Louisville, Kentucky to design and build them a custom, 250 gallon still shaped like a beehive. The still, aka Queen Bee, stands proudly on display for visitors to admire at the distillery located at Honeyville in Durango.
